About Me
I have been obsessed with horses since I was 3 years old and had my first ride on a shetland on the beach. Fast forward (a-hem) several years, and I decided to study for a qualification in equine bodywork after I struggled time and time again to get a professional out to my horse. After extensive research I selected Wolds Equine Rehabilitation and Training, whose "Professional Equine Sports and Rehabilitation Massage Therapy" course is accredited to Level 4 and recognised by UK Rural Skills, the IAAMB and IAAT.
It was the best decision I made and, after a while, I thought "how I can use this to help other horses and their owners who are in a similar situation?" And so, in 2019, Flying Hooves was born. Since then, it has grown (and continues to do so) to include different modalities, with the introduction of Reiki adding a whole new dimension to the Flying Hooves' whole horse philosophy.
Over time it became apparent that so many issues in the horse's body are linked to their head, that studying bit and bridle fitting seemed a natural addition to the Flying Hooves services. More research later, and I decided to study with Gill Batt from Horse Bit Advice whose course is completely independent, meaning I can give you impartial bit and bridle fitting advice and not advocate for any one brand.
Fast forward another couple of years and it was the right time to align with a brand I could trust to recommend to my clients, and so my links to Henry James Saddlery were forged, becoming their fitter for the Lincolnshire area. Henry James bridles are made in the UK from English leather and the concept of "building your own bridle" fits neatly into the Flying Hooves "horse first" ideals.
To this day, Flying Hooves continues to grow and adapt to bring you the best in, and a different way of doing, horse care. From regular CPD to full blown modality courses, you can be assured that I will do my absolute best to keep your horse moving.
